Default '07 Impala Remote Malfunctions?

The remote stopped a few days ago but will work for about one minute after unlocking door with key, then dead again. Can unlock with key and get remote working again, then start the engine with remote and remote will work for as long as this remote start cycle lasts (ten minutes) and at 300 feet, maybe more. Remote works fine while driving also and anytime ignition is on. The dealer wants $600+ to replace the antenna, transmitters and receiver.......... Anyone know of any trouble-shooting tries or a cheaper way to fix this? It's as though something in the system loses power after one minute. Barry

Fixed it! Disconnected the battery, waited 30 minutes, reconnected, all functions on the remote work. I remembered was a similar problem on the '83 - '85 Thunderbird, and the disconnect resets the (then) ECM? Barry
