1966 Impala Wiring Problem
I have a 1966 Impala 327 4 Dr and i noticed on the Compressor that there was a wire that wasn't connected to anything when i bought it (outlined in red). The other wire that is connected to it runs under the Evaporator and into the interior of the car. The A/C does work, but i was just wondering if that cord is essential for a safety feature (like a ground wire). Almost everything is original on the car due to the low mileage, close to 48000 original.
My second question is: I attempted to turn on the lights and they wouldn't turn on in the normal position, only in the bright position will all the lights turn on (except the passenger side turn signal light). I tracked down the wiring for it and didn't find any frayed wiring, only a possible sloppy splice between the wires. When i checked the fuse panel i noticed there was several contacts that were empty and i was wondering if that could be the culprit or not? I did check all the bulbs and they are functional.
