2001 tie rod/steering knuckle problem

2001 tie rod/steering knuckle problem
I have a 2001 impala. I just replaced the tie rod ends in my car. (tire dealer said they were bad.) The bolts where the tie rod connects to the steering knuckle are extremely loose. The castle nut goes way up past thecotter key hole and the tie rods still are not tight. One tie rod showed some signs of wear but the other seemeed fine. is it possible that the steering knuckle holes have worn? And how much is it to replace them (myself and dealer)?

Sounds like you may have bought the wrong tie rod ends
It is possible the steering knuckle is too large for the hole, but in order to have that happen, you'd have to be a savage beast taking the stuff apart. I personally have never seen stering knuckles warped or be too big, unless cause by an accident
