2003 impala cooling system problems (HELP)

I have a 2003 impala with the 3800 and lost most of my heat a few months ago. I took it to a radiator shop and they completed a combustion leak test and told me I had combustion gasses in the radiator fluid and needed to replace head gaskets. My concern is I have no CEL I am not blowing any white smoke and the engine is running fine (no miss fires). I was wondering if it is in fact a head gasket or could there be other issues causing combustion to enter the radiator fluid? Possibly lower intake gaskets, egr.
