Default 2004 impala ignition problem

I have a 2004 impala with 37K miles. Lately when I go to turn the ignition nothing happens. After repeated attempts the car will start. I already had the starter replaced and the battery was checked and found in good condition. It is hit and miss with the ignition. Has anyone else had this problem and what causes this? I have heard about alot of problems people are having with the instrumentation panel. I'm wondering ifmy ignition problem is an extension of all the wiring underneath the dash. Thanks for your feedback. Bob

If you have to wait 10 minutes it's the passlock system.

When you say nothing happens, does it not crank? or does it crank and not start? If you turn the key on, without starting it, does the theft light flash?
