Hello everyone,
Before I take my 04 impala to the mechanic, I wanted to find out if other impala owners have had the same issue and get advice.
Here is the problem: My speedometer stops working and it only runs on 1st gear, especially when the engine is cold. After a few minutes driving like a turtoise and it warms up, the speedometer works and all gears work perfectly.
Do you guys think it is the transmission or only a sensor??

 

it could be the vehicle speed sensor. it is a important input for transmission shift control. if any dtc are set get them read and diagnosis can begin.
