2005 impala 3.4 long shifting from 1st to 2nd gear, 3rd gear shifts hard , if I get it at the right rpm taking off from a red light it shifts fine, but 9 times out of 10 it takes a whole 2 or 3 seconds to shift,

 

got an 04 imp and apparently its a common problem. mine is a ss with a floor shifter so i just manually shift it all the time. if i dont it will slam into get when you come to a stop. supposedly you have to change the shift solenoid as they get gummed up with clutch material.
