2006 Chevy Impala LT Rotors
Ok I need new brakes and I am trying to change them. I got the bolts off and the cage off of the caliper now all there is left is the rotor which i need to replace. now there is a star bolt that is holding the rotor down and there is just one and I have removed that but the rotor will not slide off. I banged on it a few times with a rubber mallet but it has not come off. I wanted to see and make sure before i put some real muscle into it that there is nothing that I may be missing in removing the rotors?
again the cage and the pads are off. the piston is off and the bolts that hold the cage is off just the rotor now and that is it
any ideas would be great

Check to make sure there are no other bolts holding the rotor on (the torx {star} bolts). If there is nothing there you may just have to beat good to get it off, it is not uncommon for the rust & secret sauce to hold them on for dear life also you can spray penetrating oil around the center of the rotor near the hub, this should help loosen some of the fun stuff holding it on. If you are replacing the rotors beat on them, just becareful not to hit the part where the saddle sits, or the body of the car. This is also good for venting fustrations.
