Default 2007 Impala power loss

I just purchased a 07 LS. I am having 2 issues, the first resolved quickly. Within a day my shifter would not release and tracked the problem to a bad brake switch. Two days later car would not start. First time happened in my driveway and when I returned 1 hr later it started up. Since then it has loss power 4 times while driving. Looking at other threads thought it might be a passlock issue, but security light doesn't come on when car stalls. Symptoms after car dies are: 1- Key switch to on position all dash lights come on and operate normally. 2- When turned to start position all dash lights go off and power loss to entire vehicle (radio, headlights.....) 3- When battery is disconnected for about 5 minutes, vehicle starts and runs normally. No pattern, sometimes a couple days in between. Yesterday 2 times within 30 minutes. I know the previous owner and have been in the vehicle many times since new. This issue has not occurred in the past. I’m hoping someone else has experience this issue and can narrow down the problem for me. Any help would be appreciated.

If you have power loss during acceleration, you need to check your pvc valve and make sure that it is connected properly and not sticking. Moreover, check your rpm drop when you stop.

Default Update

Problem isn't isolated to acceleration. 2 times while idling and once after driving a short peroid, shutting car off then after 5 minutes wouldn't start. After disconnecting the battery for approximately 15 to 30 minutes vehicle starts without issues. Sooner than 15 minutes will not start.

I'm sorry you are experiencing this issue with your Impala vehicle. I recommend having the vehicle inspected by a certified technician, are there are several possible causes for the condition you are experiencing.

Please keep us posted.

If you have additional questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me privately.

Just got my car back today. After my ignition switch was replaced and car still stalled problem was found in a bad fuse box. I was told that by moving the fuse box when the car was running caused it to stall. They replaced the box and hopefully the problem is solved.
