2007 Impala Shaft 6.524 intermediate steering shaft
My 07 Impala had clunking noise from the steering. I could feel the vibration from theclunksin the steering on slow turns or when stopping at a light. There are 25K miles on the car.
The dealer replaced part number 25937479Description"Shaft 6.524", anintermediate steering shaft. There is also a technical bulletin listed 01-02-32-0010.
Some notes on this internet suggest this not a safety problem but is an annoyance, but also suggest it is acommon Chevrolet problem.
How much would it cost if this is not a warranty repair?
If this is a known problem that some post mention of 02 cars, why wouldn't Chevy have fixed this?

If I'm not mistaken this part is real common on a lot of GM vehicles. To replace them all would be costly (to say the least). So like a lot of companies, they soldier-on with a poor design. I think Moog makes a replacement for around $100 (just a guess). Since it isn't a life safety issue, it slips through the cracks. Dealer warranty has repaired my 2006 Impala and my daughters 2005 Malibu. Ain't life grand!

We had to go back to the dealer 3 times before they agreed there was a problem. Persistance pays off. 2007 Impala with 40000 miles.
