2011 Impala LS 3.5 Starter and Relay electrical issue
I have a 2011 that wouldn't start after filling it with gas. When I hit the key everything worked as normal except the starter didn't turn the engine over. I could hear the Bendix hitting the flywheel but it wouldn't turn the engine. I added some jumper cables to the battery. After turning the key from start to run several times and having the starter hitting the flywheel it finally engaged fully and cranked over the engine and it started. I drove it home and when I got there I shut it off and tried to restart it but it was back to doing the Bendix hitting the flywheel but not turning over the engine again. I figured the starter was no good. I also tested the battery, and the parts store machine said it was bad. I wasn't sure that was true but I went ahead and replaced it with an AC Delco and got a new starter for it. After replacing both I hit the key and now NOTHING happens. Everything is normal with the key on position. The lights and chimes work as well as all accessories just nothing when I turn the key to the start position. No starter activity at all. Next, I checked the relay pins. (see picture) The top left pin shows ground, the top right pin shows 12V, and both the bottom pins show neither power nor ground. Not sure what my next move would be. I can't afford a trip to the shop right now. Any thoughts are appreciated.
