I ordered a new engine air filter for my 2012 Chevy Impala LS 3.6L FI DOHC 6cyl. I bought it used a few years ago. When I ordered it from AutoZone, I made sure that it's OEM ACDelco Air Filter A3146C. The part I got doesn't look like the one in my car or the picture on AutoZone website. As you can see the old filter has a blue foamy pad glued to it and part number printed on it. The new filter has no pad and no part number on it. It's possible that the manufacturer changed its design and the part I got from AutoZone is legit. I simply don't know. The AutoZone representative was of no help. He told me that if I am not satisfied, I can always return it.
Any help? old filter pad from old filter new filter
looks like an air filter to me. I've never seen blue pads.
You don't have to buy OEM, by the way. In fact, aftermarket is often better. Wix or NAPA filters are good.
