Default 2012 Impala Blend Door Actuator Calibration Question

Hi everyone! Lots of great info here!
Last week starting getting the clicking noise behind glove box when I shut off my 2012 Impala LT.
I ordered the new actuator and would like to confirm the calibration method.
I have read everything from using a 9 volt battery, scan tool, and a procedure for pulling the fuse and removing the battery cables. Most of them are for earlier year Impalas.
Would someone please tell me the procedure for a 2012 model. I do not have a scan tool.

Thanks!

Thanks. I will give it a try before I replace it.
Another question:
Do I install the new one then calibrate it?
Or do I plug the new one in, calibrate it, then install it?

Thanks Again!

install it first....it needs to be inthe hvac box before calibration...the doors provide a stop for calibration....it will move out of range if actuated with no stop. then it will need to be recentered or it won't align for install. w hen centered you should see a centering mark on the case for the master spline

I installed it. It took about 45 minutes.
The blend door was closed when I removed the damaged one, I had to open the door to install the new one.
I could not get both lights to flash pushing the defrost and AC buttons. I tried 3 times and 5 times.
It is working and the clicking stopped, hopefully it calibrated itself.
