I don't have one but there are a few tuners out there for the 3.6 that I believe already have 87/91/93 octane tunes that help quite a bit.

The tuner I used is out of canada and is well known for his GM tuning work, Will at Overkill.

He provided engine and transmission tunes for my (gasp!) '08 Uplander 3.9L cargo van that makes it actually entertaining to drive.

Intakes, tunes and exhaust plus intake manifold spacers and throttle bodies have been the primary bolt on, fairly budget friendly options unless you go custom for turbo setups.

Hope this helps

I got a 2016 impala LT I have a throttle tuner, a cold air intake that I had to make myself just have a silicone tube and a filter I believe a k&n cold air intake that doesn't have the tube slot on the side could work if your okay with some noise damp still there and lastly it's currently straight piped looking into a new performance manifold that could fit it and it looks like there is one that fits a Malibu and an equinox. Last time I drove 14 hours I was getting 40 mile to the gallon.
