So I tried to turn on A/C and the little yellow light on the snowflake blinks multiple times. What does this mean?

Had switch on Recurculate and maximum cold air and full blast fan speed. Was not set on defrost

 

If the vehicle has an ambient air temperature display, the AAT sensor also prevents the AC clutch from engaging if the outside air is below as certain temperature. To test, turn the AC on. Press and hold the AC button at the same time as you press and hold the recirculate button. Hold for 5 to 8 seconds. If this is the cause of the issue, the AC will kick on and you will hear the compressor clutch engage.

This MIGHT reset the sensor and correct the issue. The sensor might be bad, but for $4.00 dollars you can install a new one mounted on the front grille. Its easy as pie to change. I'd put some dielectric grease on the plug first to fight water corrosion, before you install the new ambient air temp sensor. My 2015 Malibu AAT sensor did go south but it was easy to replace, with a nice cut-out in the bottom air defector, it was done in ten minutes. My A/C was still working, but I have gotten weak and kinda
like knowing how hot it is outside. My 98' K-1500 has no such device, but then it was made when pickups were more simple, and I am keeping it till I keel over dead. lol.

6 means default and yes 3 means ambient air temp readings.On the dash of your car there should be a temp showing outside tempature, if its reading -40 you have a bad sensor but if its reading normal temp its ok

 

If you dont have a uv light and the ability to inject dye yourself, any garage with a ac machine can do it, they will be much cheaper than dealers

 

THANK YOU. I started freaking out when i pressed my ac button and all it did was blink i thought something went out on my car. I held the snowflake button and the recirculate button for the 5-8 seconds and boom it stopped blinking and turned on!
