2008 Impala (had to look up your profile)? It's too new to have developed an APP sensor failure. There's a TSB for a likely wiring problem. Search for "TSB #07-06-04-019." Unfortuantely it's not easy to diagnose without access to a scan tool and service information database.

How do I fix the wiring promblem and what does the tsb 07-06-04-019 mean I am an female and I don't understand anything about a car. I just want to get my car fix and that p2318 code is the only thing that is coming up. I just want to get the problem fix please help me.
The accelerator pedal position sensor is part of the accelerator pedal assembly. There's a wiring harness that snakes down from behind the instrument panel and gets connected to the sensor. That said, I don't think it's something you ought to tackle. I've absolutely no problem with "female" but not so with the "don't understand" part.
