I do not know what the date on the TSB was, but if the new fobs don't fix the problem I guess I will be back on their doorstep. They said this should fix the problem, we'll see. When I go back in for the new fobs I'll try to see what the date on the TSB is.

hopefully its that simple.
But im very tempted to say that this was the 1st recourse when the problem popped up- but this didnt work either.
I hope that the new remotes are new versions... and not simple replacements...

Dealer replaced the key fobs and reprogramed everything and it is worse now.
He said he would order a new receiver ?? I think that is what he said. It's getting old having to go back so many times. I was looking over his shoulder at his computer while he was ordering the parts and the logo on the computer was "Fix it right the first time". This will be the 5th time in for the same problem.

Iguarantee if the money for all the comebacks came out of the dealers pocket they wouldn't touch these cars with a 10 foot pole. In the words of the great Tommy boy... "I can take a crap in a box and print guaranteed on the box, but all your getting is a guaranteed piece of crap"!!

wow, 5 times.......
Wonder if he knew that there was a TSB to replace the parts.
maybe your problem was in the early stages- and the fix at the time was not known.... so thefix now is to replace the parts... and I think most here that have had all parts replaced- are now pretty happy.

Just got it back last Friday 3/30/07, so you would think they would have the latest info. They called today and said they hada new receiver in for it and to bring it back. The state I live in has a "Lemon Law" and after 4 attempts to fix the same thing you can notify them to refund your money for the car and give it back to them. I'm about to the point of doing that. I appreciate the info you have given me.

man- i wonder if someone there didnt do a good enough search of the TSB's.....
I mean I hadnt bought our Impala yet and I already knew there was an issue with the remotes not working.
By the time we took delivery- (we ordered) the problem had been identified and our car had no issues. Im really surprissed about your case.
But the good thing is that your parts are in- lets hope it corrects it.

Got my Impala SSout of the shop today, they put a new receiver in for the remote control and tire sensors. It finally seems to work correctly now, it will actually remote start from inside my house. Before they put the new receiver in I had to be in a straight line of sight just a few feet away. It should not have taken 6 trips in to the dealer to get this problem fixed.

Does anyone know the tsb # or have a link to a website where I can print it out and take it in to the dealer? My guys replaced the remotes and it worked fine for a few years but now need to be directly next to the vehicle to get the doors to open.
