Default Blinking SRS 7 times then OFF. Normal?

Hi Everyone,
2003 Impala 3.4
I just replaced the multifunction switch and everything works but now when I start the car, the airbag light flashes seven times and turns off. So I guess it's ok but I don't remember if it did this before or if it was just steady for a few seconds and went out as it does in my other cars. I did remove the neg batt cable and 10A SRS fuse before beginning to work on it. Mitchell's says it should flash then go out after the replacement procedure but should it continue to do this? Thank you.

normal operaton

the system runs a diagnostic check at key on, flashes 7 times, and if all checks pass the light goes out.

Ok, thanks. I just couldn't remember if it had always done that before the repair.

I personally would of just left the SRS fuse out, safer in the long run

I an interested in knowing the reasoning behind that statement.

the impala is not involved in the takada recall.

Eh, Debates lead to unjust bans. Not starting one. Bad enough having no answers to one's questions, than being singled out when a difference of opinion occurs.

Not really sure the point of message boards, when they don't even give you a straight answer. Especially ImpalaForums, where rules are set but even the Moderators and Administrators don't follow them.

name calling will get u banned. banned before yes?

You did not post a question. You made a statement that may of had some merit when airbags were first introduced 25 years ago. Engineers have addressed these issues and crash test data from both low and high speed collisions confirm this.
readers without knowledge of modern pps and dual stage system operation may take your post as fact. This is what I challenge.

You most certainly can have an opinion. Sometimes, you may even get a response on a public internet forum.
