Gas Smell

Hi people..new member here,,,,,I got a 2002 impala,just bought it actually..it has a strong gas smell inside the car.I cannot find a leak anywhere and the car works great!...its a 2002,3.4....any idea's?

Is it causing the check engine light to appear lit? If so it may be something leaking in the EVAP system.

pull the hose off the fuel pressure regulator see if fuel comes out
