Default Gas Smell

2002 Tahoe. Just recently started smelling gas inside the vehicle. Not an ongoing problem. Intermittent. Sometimes the smell is detected outside the vehicle as well. Have not noticed any detectable leaks.
Suggestions to diagnosis/fix?

Do not drive your vehicle until the source of the leak is found.
If you smell gas then you have a leak somewhere and could go up in flames.

Speaking from a fireman's background - ZX is 100% correct. Gas is highly flammable.
