I'm looking at buying a 57 chev 4 door and I've been on the net for ages trying to id the vin with no success.

I'm hoping someone knowledgable here can help me out.

The seller has listed it as:

scdhpt20XXXX

I've ommitted the last 4 digits and replaced with x's, but i cannot find any info on this style vin anywhere.

i dont know what that number is but it is nothing like what i see on any of the decoder site's ,here is a good bit of info on this link http://www.trifive.com/specs/19.%20Original%20Specs.pdf

the only thing to do is hheck all the numbers ,there should be a vin stamped on the driver's side frame rail about midway ,also check the cowel tag numbers.this may be a rebuildt car with a new vin number .
