Default High pitched whine
My 08 impala has a high pitched whine when I accelerate. It gets louder as I push on the gas. My check engine came on also.
I opened the hood and it sounds like a ticking. I pressed the gas and could hear the noise coming from a belt on the left side. Any ideas how much this is to fix and is it an ASAP kind of fix?

It depends on what bearings are bad.

Does it do it with your AC off?
