Impala While undergoing many facelifts in its history, the Impala has proved itself to both civilians and police forces as one of the most capable 4-door cars GM has ever offered. Currently moving towards its 10th generation the Impala is one of the longest lasting and popular models.

Exclamation How many miles do you have?

I recently in August 2013 traded a 2005 Impala that was a Police car in its past life. A Detective's car that was sold at 19500 miles in 2006. I bought that vehicle. Was blue with a cloth interior. Had the 3.8L engine and was a good riding vehicle. I watched it turn 100000 miles in 2010. Yes I drove it from coast to coast 2 times and trips to New Jersey from Texas . This was a PC-1 Police vehicle. Still had the wig-wag lights and red and blue lights behind the grille. I had a load of fun with her. At 122000 miles the tranny quit. Had it rebuilt. New tires and 2 sets of brakes in its lifetime.

The transmission showed signs of slipping at 175000 miles. My wife is sick and we needed a car that will not leave us down. Finally traded it with 182000 miles on the clock.

I bought a 2012 Impala that was a program car. Got it from Munday Chevrolet in Houston, TX. She has 24000 miles on it. I only put 36 miles a day on it now instead of 125 miles a day with the old car.

I am happy with GM and the Impala

87 caprice had over 330K on it. 95 SS has 260K on today and will easily go that again with my recent new engine and trans in it. my 14 is 4 weeks old and has 2600 on it. it better last at least 330K or i want my money back.

Default 300, 000 miles and counting

My 2003 Impala finally rolled over the 300, 000 mile mark on Dec. 17. 3rd set of tires made it to 295k (with more than 120k) on them. Alternator finally went at 298k. Tranny still untouched. Mostly highway miles.

Update: my 03 Impala LS, which has been handed down to my daughter, is 280K miles. It has had some relatively minor issues. but all cars do, given that mileage.

2007 LT with 3.5 flex fuel ,170,655 miles. Love the car but has had a few issues. Bought used with 14,000 miles, like new.

New rotors, front and rear ,79622 miles ; warped

2 front hubs, 1 year apart, before 100,000 miles

Oil pressure sensor, 133,000 miles

Left rear hub,147,000 miles

Left and right tie rod ends , 170,290 miles

Fuel tank pressure sensor, 170,575

Rear rotors again ,168,159

Autolite plugs XP606,cabin filter, 99,743

Autocraft battery #34-2 , 122,540 miles

Autocraft battery #34-2 , 166,110 miles ( replaced under warranty)

This has been a great car ( in spite of above repairs) roomy, rides and handles well, great fuel mileage for its size. The front rotors are from NAPA, drilled, slotted, have held up very well. I cheaped out on the rears the 1st time , thus the 2nd set of rotors in rear.

I forgot to mention , the front door speakers crapped out soon after I bought the car. The roads here in the Northeast are hard on a car. I would definitely buy another Impala tho.

I've been using Wagner ceramic brake pads and they have held up well.

I'm lucky, no engine or trans problems like I've read about.
