Misfire after replacing oil pressure sensor on 07 LTZ

Misfire after replacing oil pressure sensor on 07 LTZ
So I replaced the oil pressure sensor on an 07 Impala LTZ with the 3.9L and was satisfied to have remote start working again. Took it out for a test drive to see if the AFM was working and 2 minutes into the drive coming to a stop light the car suddenly bogged down and the check engine light starts flashing. Misfire, P0300. Now runs like a tractor with an intermittent (every 3 seconds or so) tapping valve noise, and backfires with heavy gas applied.
Did an AFM lifter collapse? Cylinder 6 isnt firing, pulled that plug wire off while running and the motor didnt sound any different. Tried unplugging the oil pressure sensor wire and disconnecting the battery, no help...
Any ideas to get this thing going again?
