12volt switched means what....power in accessory position? the lighter is powered at all times.

I thought 12V-switched referred to being powered in the Run and Accessory. Memory not being what it used to be, I thought the lighter on my (now gone) 2005 was not powered all the time. That's why I mentioned that he should test it first.
