Default newbie here with some questions

my mom has a 05 impala with some simple problems. when the parking brake is set... like on a driveway with a good grade...if it is pulled in front first the parking brake won't set... but if its backed in it works fine. is there a way to adjust it?

also it sounds like when there is alot of water under the dash... you can hear it moving around when accelerating. has anyone else had this problem? is there a way to get rid of it?

thanks in advance.

You can adjust the rear parking brakes by taking off the drums at the rear and putting a screw driver in the adjuster and turning it clockwise.

The water your hearing is somewhat normal. What had happened is the evaporator is clogged and it is not letting any moisture go through it and it is just sitting in the evaporator. You can get under the car and take a rod or screw driver and unclog the hole.
