Default oil pressure sensor location? - 2005 Impala LS

Can anyone tell me the location of the oil pressure sensor on a 2005 Impala LS (3.8L V6 VIN:K)? Or better yet, a diagram link that shows the location?

Also, should I drain the oil before replacing the sensor? I assume that oil might pour out of the sensor port during replacement.

thanks,
JohnB

It is in the place that makes the most sense...within inches of the oil filter.

Bookmark that website, they have tons of parts diagrams.

Oh...if you let the car sit a while, most of the oil will be in the pan with the exception of what's in the filter. I don't think you'll lose much oil if any when you pull the sensor out, but I haven't changed one yet so be prepared with a rag in case I'm wrong.

Thanks!

Swapped the sensor. Fingers crossed that it fixes the intermittent Low Oil Pressure light/alarm.

A lot easier than changing the pump. If you do that you will have to drain the oil and remove the pan to get to it.
