Default Radio Mute Button Self-Resets

I have a 2014 Impala LT. When I press the mute button, the radio gets muted. However, when I suddenly accelerate or decelerate, the mute gets disabled and the radio goes on unexpectedly. When I asked the dealer, they were surprised. Is this a bug or a problem just with my vehicle? I would hate to see the same thing with the Start button...

I have never muted when driving- so I wouldn't know.

Doesn't make much sense - unless you are setting off the lane drift warning ... or collision detection???

It's neither off lane drifting nor collision detection. It seems to me that it is the mechanical shock to the mute switch that triggers it...

I drove around today with XM Radio muted. (I'm not sure if you are using cd/radio/hd radio/pandora/sd card or if there is a difference).

I muted the XM Radio by pushing the button for the volume (and the mute sign showed up on the console).

I drove around. I only set off lane departure warning, and it stayed muted.
Changing channels did not unmute it.

Only using the volume steering controls, or the radio volume control, or the button would unmute it.

Do you have the controls behind the wheel on the ride side for volume?
Maybe one of those is super sensitive?

Is there anything else I should try?

Yes, I do have the volume control buttons under the right side of the steering wheel. What I experience is that when I have the radio on (XM or otherwise) and want to discuss something with my wife, who is in the passenger seat, so I mute the radio, if I have to break suddenly or if I accelerate suddenly, the mute icon disappears and the radio starts to be on suddenly, which is quite startling. Even more so, if I left the radio on mute before I turned the engine off and then, very unexpectedly the radio turns on when I drive the next time.

It does not happen all the time, but frequently enough to make me wonder.
