The radio in my '03 Impala developed a short (according to the dealer's diagnostic) so I have three choices:
1 - GM exchange through my dealer for $500 - NOT!
2 - Buy a an exact replacement on eBay for about $75 and pay the dealer $50 to program it to my VIN
3 - Buy a much better radio through Crutchfield for about $100 + the door chime adapter for $40.

If I go with #2, I have the same radio I've always had and that's OK
....but I'd rather go with #3

If I go with #3, I lose the ability to do things like:
a) reset oil life
b) monitor tire pressure
c) program my key fob
d) etc, etc, etc.

....and that's not really all that bad.....

SO....I've said all of that to ask this:
Will the warnings in the speedometer cluster for oil life and/or tire pressure, etc. still go off if the OEM radio is no longer in the system?
