Default Radio swap

I have a 2007 Impala Ls with a plain radio/cd and no feutures. I found a radio out of a 2007 impala Lt that is xm ready and has the rds. CAn I put this in my car or will the connections be differant?

Connections should be the same but I was told the radio remembered part of the car's VIN #. If the radio memory and Vin #
don't match up, the radio will not work. This was the Impala
Theft Lock on the 00 to 05. Do not know about the 06, 07.

I dont think it will work and will require a trip to the dealer to get it to work.
the radios now do sense that theyre not in the car they were originally in.
And it is right- the newer ones compare VIN#'s.

the older ones used codes.
New ones have the VIN# programmed into it... if the Vins dont match it wont work.
Also- if it has XM- you may need to get the XM antenna.
Thats the shark fin.... the AM/FM antenna is built into the rear glass with the defroster elements.
