Default Remote Start/Keyless Entry

hey guys. i bought this keyless entry/remote start thing for my 02 impala.
it says i need to get to my ignition switch harness. which i know where that is but i cannot get to the wires. i take off the front dash and everything but i cant pull out the ignition when i remove the bolts or get to it from underneath the steering colum. anyone have any advice?

they're a pain in the butt, but its doable from under the drivers dash. Just be careful and take your time

okay thanks. i just found out that i can reach it from underneath the dash. just had to pull the wires a bit. they should really include better instructions with these remote starters
