I got road noise on my 2014 impala LT..got new uniroyal tires, rear shocks..got front struts I have yet to change,i go over little bumps and can hear it....i think my 2004 monte carlo was quieter..would sound deadener help and where would i put it..

 

I just wanted to ask if anyone has tried different brands of tires to reduce the sound. I swapped to a quieter touring tire on mine and noticed a small difference, but I’m still curious about other options. Has anyone tried using sound-deadening mats in the trunk or under the seats to help with the cabin noise?

 

I swapped to softer tires and noticed a big drop in noise. Also added some sound deadening in the trunk and under rear seats....made the cabin way quieter on the highway.

 

what helped a lot was adding sound deadening car insulation under the rear seat and inside the trunk panels. It took a bit of work pulling things apart, but the difference in road noise was crazy. I didn’t realize how much sound came from those spots until I put the insulation in. Definitely worth doing if you have the time and some basic tools.
