Default swapping the instrument cluster

Hi,

I have '04 3.8L impala, base model that does not have a tachometer. I am toying with an idea of getting the instrument cluster that has the tachometer display.
question: does the base model have necessary engine controls/sensors/etc that are not connected to the tachomenter but already present in the vehicle?

Thanks,

Well actually you are in like. Anyone with a 3.4 impala can switch to a cluster with tach and all. But the oil pressure gauge wont work. But with a 3.8 All gauges will work as well as your tach. Your fine
