I had a gauge cluster put into my 06 Suburban. i am looking to do it to the 07 LT3. It works out so that you get a slick looking dash and when you take out the OEM cluster and then put it back in, it shows the last reading from when it was installed. So technically you could drive 1,000's of miles and not have show on the car if you trade it in or sell.

Just be careful because the ECM also stores mileage information that can easily be retrieved via Tech-2, also if the car is equipped with OnStar and the new owner opts for the OnStar monthly e-mail status update's the mileage that is shown in the report is that from the ECM not the cluster.

Back to the topic,
I have seen several of the aftermarket cluster overlays and they look very nice, I am considering a blue or silver one for my wife's Tahoe.
