Default The temperature Gage showing hot but not over heating

The temperature gage is showing hot but car is not over heating. The thermostat has been changed, the radiator has been flushed not sure if the sensor has been replaced. The hoses have been replaced as well. Was thinking maybe it is a short some where. The battery also died and replaced.

Is this a vehicle with electric fan(s)? If so, are the fan(s) running?

yes, it does have an electrical fan and it still runs but is kinda of slow. The car is a 2005 and it's the original fan. The water pump was also changed and the radiator. I am thinking it could be the fan because the car is not over heating. The temperature needle moves to the red area. Can that effect other things as well?

There is a stick on thermometer you can put it on the radiator, it will tell you the temperature.

If it is high, does that mean the fan needs to be replaced?

Does it have two fans, and are both running with it showing in the red?

Sounds like a faulty sensor or an air bubble under the sensor in the water jacket. Remove the radiator cap and start the engine and run it up to normal operating temp with the heater on full. Check the coolant level and add coolant if necessary. This should take care of an air bubble issue. If the temp gauge still reads hot, use a infrared thermometer to check the actual temp. Aim the thermometer at the thermostat housing for the most accurate temp. If the temp there is still high you'll have to diagnose the problem further.
