Trying to get a read on the true worth of a project car so as not to overpay on something I’d have to put a lot of money into to fix up. Looking at a 67 4 door impala that’s gutted but says it runs somehow. They want 10,000 and there’s 70,000 miles.

 

Welcome from Florida. It is hard to gauge the value of a car unseen. Make sure it runs first. You say it is gutted, how bad? You are right about spending a lot of money on parts and your total cost could be more than the car is worth. 4 door cars are generally worth less than 2 door cars. Is it actually an Impala or a lessor model they are calling an Impala? Without seeing it, I would say that $10,000 is too much especially if it needs a full paint job..

 

Thanks for the info, I’m just now jumping into the idea of fixing one up so need all the help I can get. Here are the images for reference if it gives you a better idea, definitely needs a paint job. As far as I know the body of an Impala, this is it.
