Thrush makes many different types of mufflers, the glasspacks are loud, but there is not much reason to use them as they sound like ***** and burn out over time.

For a good performance muffler look at IMCO http://www.grabthepower.com or magnaflow

Also, don't look for kits. Buy the mufflers you want and find a custom exhaust shop to weld it up and bend some pipe up for you.

Flowmaster and Magnaflow are popular for a reason....They are reasonably priced, available everywhere, are of good quality, and work great. With some research, you can find websites that explain the design and construction of various performance mufflers.

There are different models that work well with different setups and have different voicing/tone for various tastes and needs. I used to like 'em pretty loud, but my tastes have changed and I like deep and throaty on accelleration, but quiet when at cruising speed. Study up and explore, you'll find the right system for you.

Good luck!

On my 1983 Chevy C-10 I put Flowmaster dual exhaust on it. I love them. They sound great and they only cost me $285. I think they are really good for the money. Iam not very familiar with very many brands though.

By far, Flowmaster is best - unless you want to spend the money on stainless, then Magnaflow is also an option.

Good Luck,

a good set of glasspacks will be cheap and they sound awesome. id buy them online and get an exhaust shop to build ur whole system. if i was u id definetly go with true duals. dont run them through one pipe and then split them at the back

i've gota 2001 chevy express cargo van. 305CID 5 litre engine
i took out the catalytic converter and put all stainless steel pipes. 3 1/2 inch single from the Y to a flowmaster 44series dual out to crome tips. It sounds great when you idle and when you really let loose she can shake the ground. and the stainless pipes will never rust out the hell.

You have to go classic exhaust with true duals. And the only classic hot rodding muffler the CHERRY BOMB!!! Sounds great and gives performance and a good price.
