If the 400 isn't built up too much it should hold up fine.

if it were me i would ditch the 700(unless you have it biult like a brick sh** house)and install a th400 or a th350,as for the 208 not the best choice for t cases.I would look for a np205 out of a big block, this case is superior over most others.

but yes that setup up should hold up for a while as mudmaniac said

anything is possible to do in the land of chevies. if you are planning to do such a build it would be nice to have unlimited access to the donor vehicle. the actual engine install is straitforward, u will need the tranny out of the donor as well as the transfercase. you will also need the wiring harness, the ecm and all the alectronic tidbits (o2 sensors and the exhaust from the donor), you will also need to modify the wiring harness (the computer drives everything related to the drivetrain like the trans and tranfercase) it isnt an easy swap and maybe not for a beginner wrencher, but with forum suport and internet research anything is possible. you best bet would be to research it on google or bing and find articles from peoiple who have done it before, just use key words like "02 vortec into 93 chevy" or "vortec 5.3 into 90's chevy" things like that see what turns up, chances are somebody has done it and documented all hiccups along the way
