While this model ended its run, it is not uncommon to see them on the road or off, years after production end.

Default 84 K5 Blazer issues

Hello newbie here. My family is the original owner of this K5 Blazer. I received the blazer from my father in- law three years ago. I parked it due to what I thought was carb problems. I recently replaced the carb and had issue with the rebuilt so I sent it back and they repaired the carb( Idle Mixture Control Solenoid was bad). The blazer runs good cold until it warms up and that is when it runs rich and sounds like it has a miss. I need to check the timing. The blazer will idle when warm and then all of a sudden the idle will increase. I don't have a check engine light. I have replaced the following parts:
  • Rebuilt Carb
  • New wires and plugs
  • Fuel Pump as it failed while I was working on the carb.
  • Coolant Temp Sensor in manifold.
  • EGR
  • Some of the vacuum lines.
  • New Distributor with Cap, rotor, coil to be installed this week.
  • 02 sensor
Sorry for the long story, Any help would be appreciated.

Default Carb issues

Not sure what carb you have but I know the newer Holly's have auto choke problems not staying on long enough and coming on to late.need to open it up and fine tune the coil filament play with it until you like it.I have had to do it to the last 4 Holly's 650,750,600,and the 640truck avenger which I am running now.might help.
