No smoke no head leak nothing ?? I was told it might be the ambient air temp sensor located by the upper radiator hose at the thermostat housing neck ? it was about 50 degrees today and it ran horrible i just got in it to go to the store and its low 30's and it ran better ? i changed the plugs in it yesterday and i was told that maybe when i took the old plugs out carbon build up broke loose and got caught in a valve ?

No, if it were carboned up, you can run the crap out of it, hi rpm, then you should see black smoke. The old carbon trick with a carbed engine was high idle and push tranny fluid through it to break up the carbon. If the plugs were fouled, that will tell you if it is fuel, detonation, or whatever. What did the plugs look like?
