Default Sticky lifter!

So I bought an 81 k10 and is for a sticky lifter. Got a great deal on the truck and it runs like a top just has that annoying tick. I've been told that an engine flush would help fix it but I've heard that bad things can happen due to the sediments in the motor that lubricate the pistons being washed out. What's somebodies professional opinion on this? Do it or don't? I'm not trying to be cheap just don't wanna have to tear into the motor just to replace a lifter or clean it out.

Been there before, and what cleared it up was changing the oil, and giving the engine full synthetic. I'm sold on Mobil 1, but everybody has their favorite.

just yesterday my 99 burb 350CI started to tick! Only have it 3 weeks. My mistake was thinking the P.O. was on top of the oil...WRONG! I just now put in a quart of semi synthetic tranny fluid...ran it till warm and the tick is gone! Sunday am doing an oil change with good ole Castrol and a pint of marvel mystery oil!
