Default 04 Malibu Maxx sunvisor binds when swiveling

Hey all

On my 2004 Malibu Maxx I just had the sunvisors replaced since the passenger side visor was broken. Both were replaced because of a design change on the car.

Anyways the sun was really bright through the passenger side window so I went to move the visor to shade my eyes. When I did the visor hit the headliner & the more I tried to move the visor the tighter it got. Next thing I knew the piece at the top where the visor mounts to the car was pulling away from the headliner. I stopped & put it back. The drivers sunvisor has no problem & no clearance issues but the passenger side does.

The car has a sunroof & they had to drop the headliner to replace the clips for the visor.

Any ideas?

Sounds like they mounted it wrong....they will bolt up 3 different ways if you force it....but only 1 way is correct.
Take it back to the dealer who did the job and have them fix it

That was it. You really know your stuff. I took the car back in & they had to reverse the mounting clip on it. Once they did that it worked perfectly.

Thanks for the info. The more I learn about the car the better
