My Malibu seems a bit sketchy lately. The eng temp gauge will be a pin hair below the half mark..and then will ease up a pin hair about the half mark through out the drive, and goes up a little further...The coolant level is fine. What am I missing here? Is this normal?

 

yup it is, the temp will stabilize, you could check the air bleed in the water jacket see if there is a little air trapped?

 

I noticed mine does this now after replacing the radiator. It was a bit more off, then I bleed the air out, and now it holds pretty much a pin below half.
