2000 chevy malibu brake job
I stripped the top inside bolt that connects the caliper bracket and caliper to my rotar, i have tried to use a bolt out set but have had no luck. the pads and rotar need to be changed. I suspect rust has a major play in this. any suggestions?
I read on a different forum someone never took off the top bolt, they just lifted up the caliper with the bolt still attached. is this possible without damaging anything?
EDIT: To be more precise its the caliper braket that has the stripped bolt head. the caliper bolts themselves are fine.

Welcome to the forum.
I think you mean you rounded the bolt head, right? Work some PB Blaster into the threads and let it do its magic. In the meantime, go get a vise-grip, hammer, and replacement bolt. Clamp the vise-grip on the bolt head and tap it with a hammer (the vise-grip, not the bolt head) to loosen.
