Any tips? My 2001 Malibu 3.1 liter engine dies right when it starts do to low idol. If i give it gas it will stay running. I drives fine until I let off the gas than dies.

If I have the Vehicle running in park and keep giving it gas to keep it started it will stay running. If i take RPMS ove 4k it revs high and low

Any Help?

 

OK I figured it out the Plenum on it was from an older engine. it came off a 1997 3.1 liter engine or so. They changed the plenums on the 2000 and 2001 3.1 liter GM engines. if you take off the throttle you could see a difference on the plenums. also the older Plenums have more bolts to bolt onto the upper intake manifold

Whoever worked on this before me must of tried to install an upper and lower intake from a older model Chevy.
