2006 Malibu SS, check engine light. Fan on after 10 seconds
I was driving home from work and parked my car. I went to move it later in the afternoon and realized my check engine light is now on. About 10 seconds after starting the car the fan in the engine compartment kicks on full blast. I drove it to work this morning and I noticed my temp gauge wasent moving and was all the way down into the C range. My drive to work is less than 5 minutes so perhaps it wasent enough time to actually warm it up.
Any suggestions as to what this could be? Thank you all.

Malibumike offers a great suggestion regarding the thermostat and temp sensor. That may fix the problem. I encourage you to have the vehicle inspected by a certified technician to be sure.
Please keep us posted.
