2006 Malibu wont start without pressing gas pedal
I have an 06 Malibu with a 3.5 v6. When you try to crank it the starter will turn but it won't hit. It does this randomly. If it ever happens, all I have to do is press the gas pedal and it will fire right up. I wouldn't mind except for the issue this causes with the remote start. If you attempt to start the engine with the remote start feature and it doesn't start, the starter just continues turning over until you go unlock the door, get in, insert the key, and turn it on manually. Does anyone have any idea why it would do this? I've been told by a friend who used to work in a Chevy service department that it was a common problem, but that he didn't know of a fix. Didn't have time for details when we discussed it, but I believe he mentioned something about a problem in the computer that controls the fuel pump. Any ideas?

Try the easiest and cheapest first, clean the throttle body with some rubbing alcohol and a toothbrush. You do get a buildup and it can cause annoying little problems, it takes a few minutes and see if it cures the problem.
