Default 2008 Malibu LT

I recently installed a drop hitch and wiring harness. After a while all the lights in the rear went out.. But my turn signal and brake lights still work...and at the same time my interior lights wont come on and I can't dim my panel lights.. its like I'm driving around with the auto-lights off at night and the HL's still work though... What I think happened is the trailer lights shorted out while I was driving. I have removed the trailer harness and still not working...I have checked all the fuses and non of them are blown...Can somebody please help me with this issue!!

Welcome to the forum. The devil is in the details. By "all the lights in the rear," do you mean the parking lamps, including license plate and side markers? Have you tried turning the lamp control to Parking Lamps (the position just above AUTO)? What did you use to splice in the wiring harness and how did you remove it?

EinST thanks for your reply...I forgot about the small fuse panel in the trunk...My trailer shorted out the fuse...replaced the fuse now the lights work...Just gotta install a new light kit for the trailer...

Congrats and thanks for the update. Just for others who may come across this thread, the Park Lamps fuse in the rear fuse block was blown. So, you had no parking lamps not only in the rear but the front as well, no license plate and no side markers.
