Default 2008 Malibu oil filter change

I got a 2008 Malibu with the 2.4 (ECOTEC) engine and I'm looking for the oil filter. I saw a post for a 2007 being front center of the engine, but there is a lot of plumbing in the way for the 2008 (if that is where it is).

I also looked up the part and it looked like an insert rather than a canister (I saw a post on that also). So what should you replace or look to replace, and insert or a canister?

What is the best way to access the filter? I'm used to trucks and this car is so low to the ground I can't crawl under it so if it is underneath I'll have to use ramps or a lift.

Any info would be appreciated!

The oil filter is the round 3"-4" diameter black plastic housing that sits at the front of th engine. As you look at the engine it will be to the right of the intake near the transmission housing. It is a european design not unlike BMW or VW as you remove the housing and install a canister and not a self contained spin on type filter.
