Default 2014 Chevrolet Malibu LS P069E Code

Headed to work one day and before making the block my check engine light came on. Went back home and got moms 2007 Ford Explorer XLT and her code reader. Before leaving I ran her code reader and got code P069E Fuel Pump Control Module Request Malfunction Indicator Lamp Illumination (Confirmed).

So went online to GM Parts website and order the replacement. Popped it in the trunk according to you tube videos.

As soon as we did the replacement and reconnected the battery, we got U0284 and P059F. Scratch head. Went to ebay and ordered a used part with the exact numbers and ended up with an extra code P305F.

Took eBay one out and re-installed the one from the dealer and tried to drive the car. We immediately found that the car was getting extremely hot (you could feel the heat as soon as you went to step out the car). So we had the car towed over an hour so that it could be programmed this time by the dealer. They tell us the next day that there are no codes and programming is not required. They refused to do a diagnostic to see if the code is hidden. We could not get the code to clear even when the check engine light went off temporarily.

So now we are wondering

1) by not getting it programmed, did it cause the code about the active shutter grille

2) are we screwed because the Chevrolet dealers are acting as if we are speaking a foreign language when we say online and at Chevrolet website programming is required. They all swearing no programming is required.

You need to check your battery (batteries if you have one in the trunk) and make sure they are top notch. Cars today are computers on wheels and demand a good source of power. If one battery fails, replace them both as a "set". A weak battery freaks out the computers and it will throw all sorts of codes.
